Notes from the desk...
December was a joyous month. I got well under way on the book I'm co-authoring, had my 47th birthday, got new living room furniture,
had some unexpected money come in, had a most joyful Christmas holiday with the family, and enjoyed New Year's Eve with friends.
My birthday was the 12th and there just happened to be a Bob Seger concert that night. We had already planned to go and had bought
tickets the day they went on sale. We had pretty good seats too. Well Pam, my wife, took off work from Wednesday the 13th to
Friday the 15th and we had a really great time together. After the concert we went back to the hotel and got some sleep, we were
exhausted. Did some shopping in Louisville the next day and came home. On Thursday we went to Tennessee to see our oldest son,
Ian.
Ian lives and works in Tennesee during the week and comes home on the weekends. The company he works for has put him and another young
man up in an apartment and they have got it made. So we got to see what the apartment is like and what the town is like where they
are. Small town in the hills of Eastern Tennessee, YEE-HAW! Well it isn't that bad really.
Then we came home on Friday and relaxed all weekend. :D On Monday the 18th though it was time to get back at it, and I started
working on participating in the Help Yourself Giveaway. If you haven't checked this out yet, you really should. There's a bunch
of stuff people are giving away, and it's all geared towards Self-Help. This is the first giveaway in this genre and I do hope there
will be some more. Go check it out here. It will only be live until the 14th of January.
Now, here's this month's issue

The Spirit of the Season
by Melissa Miller
The Christmas presents have been given, the cookies have
all been eaten and the boxes have been brought upstairs to put the decorations away. Another holiday has come and gone,
and the Spirit of the season was alive and well through all of it...well most of it anyway.
Christmas is a time of joy, gratitude, giving and receiving. When people are aware of that, the vibration of the world
can raise tremendously, because we are living in joy and gratitude. But those feelings oftentimes are not the prevailing
emotions, instead it is stress, worry and financial lack.
Joy and gratitude were huge lessons for me this year, because they were key ingredients that I had lost along the way
during the fall, and without them, Christmas was almost a wash.
I know the law of attraction, I use it in my life and as a result, have increased wealth, health and happiness. But last
fall, I kinda sorta forgot to be grateful, I forgot to be clear on what I wanted and instead found myself focusing on
what I did not want. Guess what happened, I got what I didn't want!
The result of that, focusing on what I did NOT want was a loss of wealth, two colds and a bout with the flu, and stress,
depression and anxiety. Those are not the ingredients needed for a happy holiday. Those are the things that make
Christmas what it has become for so many - a financial drain, a logistics nightmare, and lack, lack, lack. That is not
the Christmas I wanted, especially after having such a great year, using the law of attraction and bringing the things
into my life that helped me move gracefully, gratefully and joyfully on my path.
In late November I started going through the motions of re-introducing the law of attraction in my life. I made revisions
to my visions, I tried to think of five things a day that I was grateful for, on and on it went. I was going through the
motions, my heart wasn't in it because I was so caught up in a cycle of lack that the fear outweighed everything else,
and guess what, the universe knew that and was not really responding. As the holidays approached, I got a little frantic,
but continued to put my energy into gratitude, focus my attention on what I did want, this time with a little more
feeling and guess what, the universe started to respond.
I landed a new client, the high paying kind that loves the work I do, and for that I am extremely grateful. Out of the
blue, I got help and guidance from a great friend, assistance on the path of manifesting one of those "I hope someday"
kind of projects. I received the attention and assistance of a nationally-known researcher on the same side project I
have been working on. Those two things coming into my life makes that "someday" project the today kind of project. And
well, the list goes on and on.
The law of attraction is not something you "get" and once you "get it" you can put down. Once the wealth, health, and
happiness are in place the key to using the law of attraction is to practice gratitude. By being grateful for what you
have, clear on the things you know are coming, and vigilant about those things, the law will not let you down. When you
get busy, caught up in the cycle of life and forget to be still, grateful and focused - you get exactly what you don't
want, in my case financial lack, two colds, a bout with the flu, stress, depression and anxiety.
Being still, staying grateful and focused are things that I will do and continue to do every day for the rest of my life.
The result of what happens when I do that is bliss, the result of what happens when I don't? Well, I am not even going to
think about it! Take this moment, be still, be grateful, and be amazed!!!

"If everyone cared and nobody cried,
If everyone loved and nobody lied.
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride,
We'd see the day when nobody died."

Christmas has come and gone. The New Year is now upon us. Many people have made resolutions, and some have already been
broken. The thing is, how many people do you think made the resolution that they would have a great year, experience more
abundance, be more grateful for things and opportunities that come their way, and to show more compassion to their fellow man?
I bet it wasn't many.
We are always so caught up in the every day experience of life; we often forget to try to be a better person towards other
people. Oh during the Christmas holiday season we tend to be more compassionate, but soon after Christmas is over, the
compassion dwindles and dies, and by New Year's Eve we've completely forgotten about compassion and never add the "show more
compassion to my fellow man" to the mix of resolutions we make.
But we should.
We need to strive to achieve what the lyrics above are speaking of. Not the nobody dying part, but the caring, loving, and
sharing part. Now wouldn't that be a great thing to happen? "If Everyone Cared" certainly has great meaning and a message
the world should wake up to.
And we can help change how the world is. It starts with you. And you and you and you. Have more compassion for
others and truly care about them. In turn as people see you doing this they will become more compassionate. As they
become more compassionate, others will see them doing so and will in turn become more compassionate. This can grow
exponentially but we have to start somewhere.
Will you start? Will you become more compassionate to your "fellow man?" If we can get more compassion in the world, we
can change how this world is. And as you work on being more compassionate, you will see more compassion shown towards
you. You will find compassion everywhere, and as you watch it blossom and grow, you will be changed forever.
Make 2007 the year you experience more compassion towards your fellow human beings. Reach out and help someone in need,
volunteer for a cause, just find something meaningful to do where you can practice being more compassionate towards others.
We'll change the world!
Peace, Abundance, and Blessings to you and yours,
Gary
